Susan Bruce is vice president of Northrop Grumman’s Advanced Tactical Systems business unit within the Land & Avionics C4ISR Division. In this position, she oversees Restricted Programs and Strategic Readiness Solutions.

Most recently, Bruce was director of the Emerging Systems & Strategic Initiatives’ Advanced Tactical Systems operating unit, where she was responsible for capture, strategy, development and execution for programs in the BWI Restricted Programs and Longbow Apache business areas.

Bruce joined Northrop Grumman in 1989 as a senior engineer and has held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility in program management, engineering and technology development. Prior to 2000, Bruce worked in Northrop Grumman’s Electronics Systems Integration Division, supporting the BAT weapons program as chief engineer. In 2000, Bruce transitioned to the role of capture and program manager for several programs in the Systems Development & Technology organization. In 2005, Bruce was named director, Advanced Intelligence Surveillance & Reconnaissance Systems in the Advanced Concepts & Technology Division, and deputy for the Advanced Concepts business unit. In this position, she was responsible for strategy development, business capture, program management and organizational development for the next-generation business pursuits for advanced tactical ISR, weapons, and multi-function systems and programs.

Bruce earned her bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. She has also completed the General Manager’s Program at Harvard University and the Engineering Management program at the California Institute of Technology.

Bruce was founding co-chair and leader of the Northrop Grumman Women’s Initiative for Networking and Success (NG-WINS) employee resource group within the Mission Systems sector. She has also been engaged in the greater community, serving as the president of Junior League of Annapolis, chair for the Anne Arundel Medical Center Philanthropy Council, and communications director for the U.S. Optimist Dinghy Association Board of Directors. She is currently a board member of the Club 420 Organization.
